Healthy but still need to self-quarantine when Singaporeans arrive in Thailand???
The Thai embassy has clarified that this is applicable only to visitors who are feeling unwell.
According to a press conference by the Thai embassy, healthy visitors need not self-quarantine. However, the cooperation of visitors with the relevant authorities is needed.
What if I don't want to cooperate with the Thai authorities?
- Visitors who do not cooperate with authorities will be deported to their country of origin
Who needs to be under self-quarantine?
- Those who are unwell and come from countries where there is an outbreak
- Symptoms include: fever, coughing, runny nose, sore throat, problems breathing
How to self-quarantine?
- Those with a house in Thailand, are required to self-quarantine in the residences for 14 days and follow the guidelines
- Those without a house in Thailand are required to provide evidence of the accommodation to the disease control officials for tracking purposes
Self-quarantine in Thailand
- Refrain from leaving the residence
- Stay in separate rooms and keep a distance of at least 1m from others
- Required to record temperature and symptoms daily
- If a high temperature is detected, individual will be moved to a medical facility for treatment immediately
- If condition worsens, individuals will have to inform officials within 3 hours
What if I break the mandatory self-quarantine order?
- Maximum of 1 year imprisonment and/or a fine of up to 100 000 baht
- Take effect once a revision of high-risk countries and places is made and published in the royal gazette
